"Updated review: After my original review, the owner of J&B Makelaars, Bridgette, contacted me to discuss the situation. She handled the matter gracefully, allowing me to share my experience while genuinely listening—not just to reply, but to understand and rectify the issue. Contrary to my initial assumption, she was not aware of what had happened and was appalled by my interaction with the agent. Fortunately, this agent is no longer with J&B Makelaars. I was also refunded a significant portion of the payment I made. I understand that some work was done by the agents that required payment, and I appreciate this kind gesture. I can honestly say I am pleased with how the situation was handled and with Bridgette’s transparency and honesty. A great company shows its character in how it responds to negative situations, and that deserves respect. I can confidently recommend J&B Makelaars. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Original review: Expensive mistake—avoid working with J&B Makelaars at all costs! From the beginning, they sent me irrelevant property listings. It quickly became clear they weren’t going to help me secure a property, and I found myself doing most of the work—sending them listings, following up on applications, and chasing updates on viewings. Ultimately, the property I secured came through my neighbours, not J&B Makelaars, yet I was still charged €1,400. Given their minimal effort, this fee felt completely unjustified and unethical. Throughout the process, communication was poor, and the agent was unprofessional and disrespectful. He was forceful and repeatedly pressured me to commit to properties I didn’t want to commit to, even resorting to fearmongering tactics by saying I’d have nowhere to stay if I didn’t accept their suggestions. The property owner was aware of this behaviour but never intervened. This lack of accountability for such unprofessional behaviour is unacceptable. I strongly recommend looking elsewhere for a more ethical and reliable agency."
